Travel to Nepal

After collection from the airport we transfer to our beautiful and serene hotel on the outskirts of Kathmandu. Participants are invited to rest after a long flight, lounge by the pool, wander through the extensive gardens or indulge in a treatment at the Ayurvedic wellness spa.

Our first evening will be spent getting to know each other over a sumptuous banquet dinner, answering any questions you may have, and outlining details of the rest of the trip.



7.00am – 8.30am: Yoga & Meditation

8.30am – 9.30am: Breakfast

10.00am-2.30pm: Tour of Boudhanath

Spiritual Journey to Nepal
Our tour guide will lead us on a special tour of Boudhanath, the holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside of Tibet. This beautiful 14th century stupa is Nepal’s largest, and is an important pilgrimage and meditation place not only for the local Nepalese, but for the many Tibetan Buddhists in the Kathmandu area as well. We can join the circular procession of pilgrims as they devotedly spin prayer wheels, recite mantras and perform prostrations at this auspicious site. Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the many restaurants overlooking the temple.

2.30pm – 4.30pm: Tour of Kopan Monastery

After lunch we will visit the beautiful Tibetan Buddhist Monastery on Kopan Hill, overlooking the Kathmandu valley. Home to 360 monks, lamas, teachers and workers; the monks have come from all areas of Nepal and Tibet with ages ranging from seven to sixty years old. Visitors from all over the world come here to enjoy the spiritual atmosphere of the place and learn more about Tibetan Buddhism.

11.00am – 12.00pm Fly to Pokhara

We will take a short 20 minute flight to Pokhara where we will stay on the shores of a tranquil lake surrounded by incredible Himalayan views.

1.00-2.00pm LUNCH

2.00-7.00pm Free Time

Take a nap, paddle on the lake in a row boat, explore the surrounding gardens or book a luxurious treatment at the Ayurvedic wellness spa.

Nepal Retreat

5.00am – 8.00am: HIMALAYAN SUNRISE

This morning starts early with a trip to the top of Sarangkot mountain in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas…here we will witness one of the most incredible spectacles in the world: the sun rising over the tallest mountains on Earth and the clouded valleys below.

1.00pm – 2.00pm: LUNCH

2.00pm – 4.30pm: Yogic Philosophy and Eastern Spirituality Lesson

In our yogic philosophy workshops we will dive into the rich spiritual heritage of the area, exploring fundamental questions such as “Who Am I”, “Why Am I Here” and “What is True and Lasting Happiness?”. We will also learn about the higher spiritual branches of yoga not often taught in the West.

At an elevation of 915m above sea level, the magical ambiance and pure natural beauty of the lakeside town of Pokhara draws visitors from around the world. Marvel at the snowy peaks towering over you at 8000m or catch their reflection in the serene mirror of Phewa lake.

We will hire row-boats to cross the placid lake and visit the island temple in the centre. This two-storied pagoda temple is an important Hindu holy site dedicated to the boar manifestation of Ajima, the protector deity representing the female force of Shakti.

We will also visit a local waterfall and sacred cave, as well as the Tibetan Refugee Camp. The camp is a centre for Tibetan handicrafts and carpets, providing much-needed jobs to the local Tibetan refugees. The profits go towards healthcare, sanitation, education and aged and disabled care for the Tibetan people of the camp.

Lunch will be enjoyed at one of Pokhara’s many ambient lake-front restaurants and there will be time for optional souvenir shopping at the local stalls selling a range of items sourced from all over Nepal, India and Tibet.

10.00am – 12.00pm: Yogic Philosophy and Eastern Spirituality Lesson

In this class we will explore deeper into the spiritual traditions from the East. Topics include the ethical and attitudinal practices of yoga to break down the false sense of self (the ego) and realize the true awakened self, how to start a spiritual practice at home, eating to enhance consciousness, and mindfulness techniques. Journaling exercises for self-inquiry will be given with the option to complete them in the free-time slot later in the day.

1.00pm – 2.00pm: Lunch

2.00pm – 7.00pm: FREE TIME

You may want to use this time for inner exploration with our suggested journaling exercises given in the morning’s lecture.

Travel to Nepal

7.30am – 8.30am Breakfast

9.00am -1.30pm Village and School Excursion

Our guide will lead us on a hike to a nearby local Nepalese village where we can witness the rural lifestyle that has continued largely unchanged for centuries in Nepal. Then we will visit a local school sponsored by the retreat centre, where the kids are always excited to receive visitors!

1.30pm – 2.30pm Lunch

3.30pm – 4.30pm Sound Circle

In this fun but powerful workshop we will explore the ancient spiritual practice of chanting, learning some widely used Sanskrit chants, followed by a “sound bath”, a healing group sound meditation.

4.30am-6.00pm Yoga and Meditation

7.00pm – 8.00pm Dinner

9.00am Return to Kathmandu by Private Bus

The trip back to Kathmandu by bus (approx 7 – 8hrs) is a fascinating journey and as we pass through Himalayan foothills, rice-terraces, farms, villages and forest, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant along the way.

6.30pm – 7.00pm Dinner

7.00pm – 9.00pm Singing Bowl Workshop

Sudeep, a 4th generation Tibetan Sound Healer will join us for an interesting demonstration of the religious, meditative and therapeutic uses of the Tibetan Singing Bowl. These round metallic bowls produce a vibrating singing sound when a wooden stick is struck against or rubbed around its circumference. Sudeep will show you how the powerful sound emitted by the bowl has been used for centuries by Tibetans to calm the mind and heal various ailments.

10.00am to 2.00pm Guided Tour of Patan

Today our local tour guide will lead us on a fascinating tour of the ancient royal city of Patan, also known as the “City of Beauty” or the “City of Fine Arts”. This world heritage listed site is a visual and cultural feast of exquisite stone architecture, palaces, pagoda temples, Buddhist and Hindu shrines, statues and religious art. This will be followed by a delicious rooftop lunch overlooking the captivating main square and, if the weather is clear, a Himalayan panorama.

2.00pm – 4.30pm Guided Tour of Swayambunath

Our afternoon includes a guided tour of possibly the most recognizable symbol of Nepal, the famous Swayambhunath or “Monkey Temple” as it is also called due to the incredible number of monkeys that inhabit the temple grounds! Arguably one of the world’s most fascinating architectural jewels, this Buddhist pilgrimage site is a haven of peace and beauty with its leafy trees draped in colorful prayer flags, glowing butter lamps, tiny craft and tea shops, and Buddha’s all seeing eyes gazing down over the whole Kathmandu valley.

7.00pm – 9.00pm Dinner and Closing Ceremony

9.00am: After breakfast, transfers to the airport will be arranged.
