It is said that the layout of Teotihuacán is a model of the ascension of human consciousness; one that spans from the limitations the human rational mind to that of the absolute limitlessness of the infinite. Using the layout of the city we will spend four days shifting our attention from what we think we are suppose to photograph (the place of the mind), to a place of no expectation and of true creativity (the place of the heart & consciousness of the infinite). The energy of this sacred place is perfect to support our creative transformation. Through ritual, ceremony, photo excursions, discussion and meditation you will learn ways to focus your attention and bring new life into your photography.

Just as the ancient Toltecs did here at Teotihuacán, we will practice the three masteries of their tradition: Mastery of Awareness, of Transformation and Intent. This is a very profound and heart felt trip. Our emphasis is on noticing the sacred in every moment and less on the technical aspects of photography. A good understanding of how your camera gear works is essential for this journey.

Day 1- Meet the group at the Mexico City Airport at 4:00 pm. Arrive at the lovely Club Med Villas for dinner and a restful night.

Day 2-5- We spend the next four days exploring and moving through the Pyramids. We will work with ritual, ceremony, photo excursions, meditation and discussion. There is no definite schedule for these days because at Teotihuacán we work with the energy present in the moment!

Day 6- We leave Teotihuacán for the Mexico City Airport today renewed and with a change of heart. New friends have been made and old friendships made stronger. We look forward to the challenge of bringing this new dream home with us!

All spiritual and photographic teachings are included along with your entrance fees to the pyramids. Ground transportation to and from the Mexico City airport is included on this journey; unless you do not arrive with the group and separate transport is needed. All tips for our bus drivers and baggage handlers (one bag per person) are included. Your round trip air flight to and from Mexico City is not-included. Meals are not-included in this itinerary. Meals taken at the hotel can be charged to your credit card, but if you eat at any of the local restaurants, you probably will need to pay in cash so plan accordingly! Other non-included items would be: phone calls, laundering services and souvenir shopping! Tips for the maids (we recommend $1.00/day for the maids)and waiters are not-included.

There is the possibility of participating in a traditional Temazcal sweat lodge given by local healer and curandera Dona Emma. Dona Emma also does massage and healings if you are interested.

FYI: You can use a digital and/or film camera on this journey. Any format is acceptable as long as you already have an understanding of how your camera gear works. During our time together we will not be developing film - as the primary purpose of this trip is the process of creation, rather than the outcome. Come prepared to allow your creativity to flow without attachment to viewing the result. I will be bringing my laptop to download our digital images if time permits, but it will not be our primary focus. Just in case, please bring your own camera memory card reader to use on my laptop. (A memory card reader connects to the USB port on a computer. Upon inserting a camera memory card into the readers slot, images are transferred from the digital camera to the computer to be viewed. It is preferable to have a reader that does not require a driver to be installed on my computer to work.) I will send you a list of other things to bring once you sign up for the retreat.

The actual schedule of spiritual and photographic teachings and what we will be doing day to day is not published. This is because we teach by channeling spirit which comes in the moment. Every day will be a magical experience for all of us, teachers included! Keep you heart and mind open to the experience life brings us.

2008 trip cost is $1295.00 per person double occupancy. A deposit of $500.00 is needed by: May 1st, 2008 - if possible - this is our way of letting the hotel how many rooms we will be needing! Final payment is due: June 1st, 2008. Any cancellation made in writing before: May 1st, 2008 will result in a cancellation fee of $0.00. Any cancellation made between: May 1st and the trip departure date of July 10th, 2008 will result in total loss of deposit ($500.00). Trip cancellation insurance is recommended to cover such issues. If you need a single, please let us know asap, as the cost differential is $285.00 for the trip. Please know that I am happy to create a monthly payment plan for you - if that works better! Just email me and we can charge a specific amount monthly to your credit card.
