Sacred Sight

Journey with us on this rich and vibrant retreat. Surrounded by nature you’ll have unlimited potential for quiet image making and communion between yourself and the earth, sky, mountains, trees and ocean. This merging between self and nature is experienced in the moment your being knows it’s time to click or take the picture. This knowing is what we wish to experience time and time again – the mysterious space in time when we merge with spirit though the camera lens. Connecting deeply with the oneness of life we have the desire to express our feelings on film.

Expressive Freedom

Each morning we’ll gather together to share our thoughts and feelings about our creative process and where we would like our photography to take us. You’ll be given photo “assignments” which will encourage you to explore the hopes, dreams, and wishes that spring from your hearts deepest desires. Heading along the coast, we’ll visit a variety of terrains and vistas presenting us with unlimited photo opportunities. There will be plenty of time to expand your consciousness, explore the assignments, work on personal projects, walk along the beach, journal, or simply take a quiet break. In the evenings we’ll gather again for dinner and discuss what has been revealed to us that day. Open to all levels of photography experience – so don’t be shy!

Limitless Creativity

It’s said that the layout of Teotihuacán is a model of the ascension of human consciousness; one that spans from the limitations the human rational mind to that of the absolute limitlessness of the infinite. Using the layout of the city we’ll spend four days shifting our attention from what we think we are suppose to photograph (the place of the mind), to a place of no expectation and of true creativity (the place of the heart & consciousness of the infinite). The energy of this sacred place is perfect to support our creative transformation. Through ritual, ceremony, photo excursions, discussion and meditation you’ll learn ways to focus your attention and bring new life into your photography.

Three Masteries

Just as the ancient Toltecs did here at Teotihuacán, we’ll practice the three masteries of their tradition: Mastery of Awareness, of Transformation and Intent. This is a very profound and heart-felt trip. We’ll uncover the mysteries of the ancient Toltecs by practicing the three masteries of their tradition: Mastery of Awareness, of Transformation and Intent to help us move even deeper into our fullest potential as photographers. Our emphasis is on noticing the sacred in every moment and less on the technical aspects of photography. A good understanding of how your camera gear works is essential for this journey.
