What’s the schedule?

Figure we’ll spend around 3-4 hours together in the morning and then you’ll do your journaling/homework in the afternoon. Then we’ll catch back up for approximately 1 hour in the evening to re-cap.

You’ll fill out a questionnaire before the event sharing what you feel is holding you back from living your best life, what you’ve done to try to change things, and what you ultimately envision your life to be.

Where are the intensives located?

The intensives take place in St Petersburg, Florida (Tampa Bay). It’s a lovely place to take time to reflect upon your life and walking on the beach is both beautiful and peaceful. You’ll stay either at my town-home (available from May – October) or you can stay at the funky Postcard Inn on St Pete Beach (or any other hotel on the beach) during the other months.

How do I get there?

You would need to fly into the Tampa or St Pete/Clearwater, Florida airports. You can drive here too if you like – that’s not a problem.

How long should I stay?

Commonly folks stay 3 days, but it’s up to you. I feel it’s important to be able to internalize the work and too many days of processing does not allow us to simply be with it all. The ego-mind starts to rebel and has trouble integrating too much information.

What are the costs involved?

You have to figure in your flight or drive to my home, and your food. You’ll have access the the kitchen if you are staying at the house (available only from May-Oct) – you can pick up groceries and cook. If you are staying at the hotel, then you’ll be either eating-out or picking up food at the Publix grocery store (some hotels on the beach do have kitchens).

As for the cost of the program – it depends on how we set it up, number of days and hours. I suggest filling out this questionnaire and faxing or emailing it over to me immediately so we can discuss creating something perfect for you. You must feel like you and your sanity are worth it – I value you and your time very much, and you must value yourself as well. Also if you are not planning on coming for a few months – you are welcome to pay out your intensive!

**This is the bottom line:

You can do one hour sessions once a month for a year (like in therapy), or you could invest ~12 hours over 3 days and have the time to deeply work through what you need to without the clock interrupting you. That is extremely significant.

Who wants to take a year to resolve something that can be dealt with in one weekend?

Finding the Buddha Within

The people are Tantric Buddhists who also have a Shamanistic background called Bon – and a fantastic history filled with legends and mythology. In fact, one of the highlights of our spiritual journey is hiking to Tiger’s Nest where Guru Rinpoche flew to on the back of a flaming tigress! Indeed, the monasteries are magical and beautiful in ways that I cannot begin to describe.

Everyone who visits is touched in the most astonishing ways, by the landscape, the heart of the people, and their philosophies. By the time we leave, the experience will have opened your heart in a manner that that is totally unexpected. Author and Aikido master Wendy Palmer invites you to join her on this magical and sacred pilgrimage. Deepening our Wisdom and Compassion for Action

This trip is designed in the context of spiritual practice and our intent will be to strengthen our connection to wisdom, energy and compassion. Anyone with a committed and regular practice is welcome to participate. We will practice a Conscious Embodiment approach to meditation that works with a balance between concentration and awareness. Like most embodiment practices this approach to mindfulness seeks to recognize thoughts as habit and choose the openness of wisdom and compassion.

The Conscious Embodiment centering and partner exercises will be part of our daily ritual. These exercises will be designed to enhance our experience of the environment to allow for a strong somatic imprint so that inspiration can be accessible and transferable long after our trip is over. Giving of Ourselves

Although Kenya is one of the more stable countries in Africa, poverty and deprivation are rife across the land. HIV AIDS has resulted in over one million children being left as orphans with no visible means of support or care. Life expectancy rates have fallen and thousands of families struggle to survive on a day-to-day basis. With children suffering from the ravages of malnutrition, malaria, and HIV AIDS, the result is an ever-increasing child mortality rate.

For our community project, we’ll visit the Kids Alive Children’s Home (a Christian organization), and the Kamatongu Primary School a government supported school which is in dire need of a permanent source of drinking water. Proceeds from this journey will provide funds to the school to help them achieve some of their most dire goals. Our visit will be a powerful opportunity for us to open our hearts in service and experience unconditional love.
