The quest for Avalon, the Lady of the Lake, Excalibur and the Holy Grail, have long been sought after by seers, magicians, kings and noble knights – it represents the classic story of the eternal journey for peace, restoration, balance and healing. These stories represent your journey, mine, and all of humanity’s to the heart of who we truly are. We invite you to journey with us and cross over the threshold of time as we open the curtain to Avalon and bring the darkness within into the light.

Glastonbury has long been acknowledged as the location of the mystical land of Avalon and the burial site of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere; a place beyond the veil of human sight and one only those who have reached deep inside their soul can see. Ladies, if you’ve ever felt a connection with Camelot, Tintangel, the healing waters of the Chalice Well, or felt called to walk with the ancients at Stonehenge, this precious journey will speak to you.

One-of-a-Kind-Experience

This will be a very special one-of-kind tour specially arranged for Journeys of the Spirit®. Joining trip leaders Sheri Rosenthal and Cameron Broughton – are local experts who will share the many secrets of these ancient lands hidden behind the veil of modern society. Together they will share and guide us through ceremony, prayer, and sacred circle time, into the heart and soul of these sacred places and into the mystery and magic of the Goddess within us all.

We’ll have private time at Stonehenge, visit Glastonbury, Bath, and Wells – and also share a private moonlight gathering at Chalice Well! Ancient Beauty

Santorini is a small, circular group of volcanic islands located in the Aegean Sea, about 200 km south-east from the mainland of Greece. Santorini is also known by the name of the largest island in the archipelago, Thira or Thera and is the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands. This stunningly beautiful island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions of the last several thousand years when it erupted cataclysmically about 3,500 years ago.

Mysticism & Power

We’ll reconnect with the Mother Goddess worshiped from around 9000 BC to 2000 BC and explore early Christian Mysticism in the steps of St. Paul and St. John. From there we’ll deepen our understanding of the Sufi tradition and the mystical heritage of the Whirling Dervishes. Watching these dancers enter spiritual bliss is an amazing experience. In addition we’ll visit an *Alevite Moslem Temple where a man and woman perform a ritual round dance in the name of God, and also experience Turkish Music Therapy through a Bakshi Dance. (Central Asian shamans “Bakshi,” used music and dance to cure patients.) It will be possible for us to speak to these dancers and learn about their powerful traditions! *(Alevism, a liberal sect of Islam, has distinct differences to the practices of Turkey’s Sunni majority. The Alevi house of worship is called a cemevi, while Sunnis worship in a mosque.)

Ancient Ruins

Some of the other wonderful sacred sites we will be visiting are the famous Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, and the ancient cities of Konya and Pamukkale. By boat we’ll explore some of the lesser known sites of Kaunos, Loryma and Knidos.

Our land journey is to be announded and the Gulet extension along the Turquoise Coast is to be announced.

Sailing into the Past

In addition to a wonderful exploration by land, we’ll also explore the quiet coves and isolated ruins along the Turquoise coast by gulet – our private sailing boat. Here we will relax and slow our pace and connect with the energy of this beautiful land. We will look forward to morning strolls amongst the ruins of past civilizations while back on board the crew prepares our lunch. The table, under the shade of an awning, is laden with Turkish specialties; tempting vegetable dishes, colorful salads and freshly caught fish. The bread, baked in a stone oven, arrives by row boat from a village ashore. Then while we rest in the sun, our boat will set sail for our next harbor.
